ഏകദേശം രണ്ടു മൂന്ന് മണിക്കൂർ നീണ്ടു നിന്നു മെഡിക്കൽ ചെക്കപ്പ്. അത് കഴിഞ്ഞ ഉടനെ ഹോട്ടലിലേക്ക് തിരിച്ചു. അവിടെ ചെന്ന് ഫ്രഷ് ആയിട്ടു വേണം വീണ്ടും കമ്പനിയിലേക്ക് പോകാൻ.

അവിടെ ചെന്നപ്പോൾ ജിതേഷ് അവിടെയുള്ള കോൺഫറൻസ് ഹാളിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ജിതേഷിനെ, കമ്പനി താൽകാലികമായി തങ്ങുന്നതിന് ഏർപ്പാടു ചെയ്തിരുന്ന ഹോട്ടലിൽ വച്ചായിരുന്നു ആദ്യമായി പരിചയപ്പെടുന്നത്. അവൻ പൂണെയിൽ നിന്നാണ് വരുന്നത്. വളരെ ഫ്രണ്ട്‌ലിയും ഓപ്പൺ മൈൻ്റ്ടുമായിട്ടുള്ള വ്യക്തി.

When I arrived there, Jitesh was sitting in the conference hall. I had first met Jitesh at the hotel where the company had arranged temporary accommodation for us. He was from Pune a very friendly and open-minded person.

അവൻ്റെ കൂടെ വെറെ ഒരാളും കൂടി ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അജിൻകെ. കുറച്ചു മാത്രം സംസാരിക്കുന്ന ശാന്ത സ്വഭാവക്കാരനായിരുന്നു അവൻ. എന്നാൽ നല്ല ഫ്രണ്ട്ലിയും ആയിരുന്നു. മഹാരാഷ്ട്രയിലെ വാർദ്ദാ എന്ന സ്ഥലത്ത് നിന്നാണ് അവൻ വരുന്നത്.

There was another person with him, Ajinkya. He was a calm and quiet-natured person who spoke only a little. But he was very friendly though. He was from a place called Wardha in Maharashtra.

കുറച്ച് അതും ഇതും സംസാരിച്ച ശേഷം ഉണ് സമയമായതിനാൽ തന്നെ ഞങ്ങൾ നേരെ കാൻ്റീനിലേക്ക് ചെന്നു. എല്ലാം മഹാരാഷ്ട്രൻ വിഭവങ്ങൾ. വ്യത്യസ്ഥ രുചി കൂട്ടുകൾ. എനിക്ക് എല്ലാം നന്നായി ഇഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടു. എന്നാൽ അജികെയും ജിതേഷും ആഹാരം അത്ര പോരാ എന്നാണ് പറഞ്ഞത്. പക്ഷേ എനിക്ക് അങ്ങനെ ഒന്നും തോന്നിയില്ല.

After chatting a bit about this and that, since it was lunchtime, we headed straight to the canteen. All the dishes were Maharashtrian, with a variety of unique flavors. I really liked everything. However, Ajinkya and Jitesh said the food wasn’t that great. But I didn’t feel that way at all.

എന്തായാലും ഞങ്ങൾ ഊണൊക്കെ കഴിഞ്ഞ് എച്ച്.ആർ ഓഫീസിലെ കോൺഫറൻസ് റൂമിൽ ചെന്നിരുന്നു. വിശേഷങ്ങൾ പറയുവാൻ തുടങ്ങി. ജിതേഷ് വാതോരാതെ സംസാരിക്കുന്ന വ്യക്തിയാണ്. നല്ല ലോക വിവരവും അറിവും ഉണ്ട്.

Anyway, after finishing our lunch, we returned to the conference room in the HR office. We began sharing stories and experiences. Jitesh is someone who talks without much hesitation. He has a good amount of worldly knowledge and insight.

കുറച്ചു കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ എച്ച്.ആർ ഡിപ്പാർട്ട്മെൻ്റിലെ ഒരു കോർഡിനേറ്റർ ഒരു കെട്ട് ഫോം കൊണ്ട് വന്ന് തന്നു, പൂരിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനായി. അത് പൂർത്തികരിക്കുന്നതിനു തന്നെ ഒരു ദിവസം വേണ്ടി വരുമെന്ന് എനിക്ക് തോന്നി.

After some time, a coordinator from the HR department came with a bunch of forms and handed them over to be filled out. I felt it would take me a whole day just to complete them.

എന്തായാലും ഇവിടം വരെ എത്തി, അതങ്ങ് പൂരിപ്പിക്കാം എന്ന് മനസിൽ വിചാരിച്ചു കൊണ്ട് എഴുത്ത് തുടങ്ങി.

ഏകദേശം പൂരിപ്പിച്ചു കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ ഞങ്ങൾ മൂന്ന് പേരും കൂടി വീണ്ടും ലോകകാര്യങ്ങൾ സംസാരിക്കുവാൻ തുടങ്ങി. പിന്നെ സമയം പോയതറിഞ്ഞില്ല. പൊതുവേ അന്തർമുഖനാണെങ്കിലും ഇത്തരം സന്ദർഭങ്ങളിൽ വാതോരാതെ സംസാരിക്കാൻ എനിക്ക് ഒരു മടിയുമില്ല.

After almost completing the forms, the three of us started discussing world affairs again. Then, we lost track of time. Even though I am generally introverted, I have no hesitation in talking endlessly in such situations.

ഇതിനിടയിൽ ജനാല വഴി പുറത്തു നോക്കിയപ്പോൾ നേരം ഏകദേശം സന്ധ്യ മയങ്ങിയിരുന്നു. കുറെ പേർ ബാഗും തോളിൽ തൂക്കി പഞ്ചിങ് മെഷീൻ നിൻറെ അരികിലേക്ക് ധൃതിയിൽ ഓടിപ്പോകുന്നത് കാണാമായിരുന്നു. സമയം ഏറെ വൈകിയിരിക്കുന്നു. അങ്ങനെ ഞങ്ങളും ബാഗുകൾ പാക്ക് ചെയ്തു തിരിച്ചു ഹോട്ടലിലേക്ക് പോകാനായി തിടുക്കപെട്ടു..

Meanwhile, when I looked outside through the window, evening had already set in. I could see several people rushing toward the punching machine with their bags slung over their shoulders. It was clearly quite late. So, we too hurriedly packed our bags and got ready to head back to the hotel...
